Missouri Show and Tell at Craft Fairs

by Bob Jones on August 16, 2009

People in Missouri are famous for being skeptical about things; they are not people to be taken in by luscious words. One can try to convince them about how something is worthwhile, but without actual proof that it indeed is, it is a lost cause. The State’s motto, as it happens, is “Show Me.”

Play & Learn Story time at Fairfield, Washington

by Mara Hernandez-Capili on July 17, 2009

A kid’s smile never fails to brighten a parent’s day. As for me, my daughter Maiah is my greatest treasure. Kids will always be kids. They love to play and play the whole day. Contrary to popular belief, having a kid is pure bliss. She makes me smile and makes me remember that life is sweet and beautiful. Through her jovial nature that I feel addicted to, I am always transported to a place full of love and goodness.

by Mara Hernandez-Capili on July 13, 2009

2009 is the year for the annual and spectacular Discovery day camp in Paragould, Arkansas. A child’s brain absorption rate is higher than your average older individual. Some even call the stage genius stage. A child can absorb almost all in their environment, and this happens almost automatically.

Yard Sales, Mardi Gras And More

by Ian Kleine on July 12, 2009

Alabama is not the run-of-the-mill state some folks put it to be. You have a lot of festivals and hangouts to go around with, and this is something that most folks in Alabama can be quite happy with. Insert a grin here of course. A major attraction is the Mardi Gras, an internationally renowned festival of highlights, beats and bacchanal revelry; this festival actually originated in Mobile. Not in New Orleans as most people assumed it would be. The festival starts right after Easter Sunday, so it has a good timing with breaking off from your abstinence. The Mardi Gras of Alabama is probably the most popular amongst its festivals, complete with balls and festive parades, reception and booths that are packed with different cuisine gathered from varying regions.

Music is greatly enjoyed by almost everybody I know. A place where they find pure artistry where the music and the musician is focused to hardcore music expression and where the music will be played to capture the emotions of the listeners. It is an art from making sound waves as medium. A lot of music enthusiasts are always in the hunt for places to find good music and good people.

Creme Brulee Kids Consignment Sale at Kent, Washington

by Mara Hernandez-Capili on June 24, 2009

Kids really act way beyond their ages these days. I once saw my friend’s 3 year old brother open up the computer and started playing games on it. I was really amazed? You know why? The kid can barely walk! I wonder what these kids are still up to and what else these tiny tots can do.

Cheese Handling

by Ian Kleine on June 14, 2009

Cheese, as hardy and tough as it seems to be, is still food. It is delicate. It needs its own space, and it needs its own ways of caring for it, storing it and serving it. From when the cheese is delivered to the shop for display and service, the customer should know proper choosing and handling of cheese to promote storage longevity and maximum preservation of taste, nutrients, consistency, aroma and overall appearance.

Starting 101 Part 3

by Bob Jones on June 14, 2009

Because as we all know, tables are just as small as retroactively their cost is. The best you can do is to work with that meager space that was given to you and decorate with a flourish that gives an illusion that your table is a few sizes more bigger than it originally was. Work with angles, elevations, light shots and things like that. Colors too, can greatly influence the appearance of your table. Work with different shades, tones and hues so you can achieve maximum visibility.

Enjoying a Nocturnal Fair

by Ian Kleine on June 13, 2009

The fair can be quite a surreal place when darkness comes in, and the lights twinkle their soft glows like frozen fireflies. I would have never thought that the fair grounds would grow quiet and soft-toned when night came. I had arrived earlier during the day and had scowled in distaste at how busy and impersonal the place seemed to be. For me anyway.

Sell Well

by Bob Jones on June 12, 2009

When you are considering going on that road to selling your crafts at a crafts fair, understand that you are taking a big step forward. Along with the associated risks, and challenges that are involved with this step. There are a lot of things to consider first, in order to systematically sell stuff, categorizes and put all things in proper order, and to mentally prepare yourself for this undertaking. Selling stuff is no easy walk in the park kiddies.
